Most cuttings are unsuccessful due to over watering and lack of warmth, roots should be at a temperature of 75F to 85F degrees. Please be aware of microbial control as well, Fungi spores are in the air we breathe. Be aware of how to apply rooting hormone properly. If cuttings are wrinkled you can soak them overnight in a 1/2 cup Hydrogen Peroxide to 1 gallon warm water solution. If cuttings ends are feeling soft you should cut a little at a time off till you see white wood with a sterilized knife or pruner. Cuttings can be stored for many weeks in the right environment. A cutting that is hard and dry on the cuttings end will root well. Cutting should be placed in pre moistened well draining soil with rooting hormone. Cuttings shouldn’t be watered again till new leaves are present. A wrinkled cutting can be lightly misted with a Hydrogen Peroxide solution every day till wrinkles heal a little, do not water. Most cuttings roots will begin to become developed on an average of 2 months. When rooted they should have at least 3 leaves and then they can be placed into the landscape or up potted and fertilized.
